Details

Yanase san gave the name Donten, which means "cloud" in Japanese. The variation in the glaze and the slight irregularities in the form are really pleasing and Yanase san has also left an unglazed section with a few drips and lines of glaze to add to the drama on the plate. The glaze itself has a slightly soapy or waxy feel making these plates lovely to use and hold as well.
