Suzuku san's turning is really high quality and it opens up different possibilities. The groove cut out of the rim of the plate holds just enough glaze to get this beautiful decorative rim and then the glaze washes down the sides of the bowl unitl it once again thickens in the base of the bowl. The unglazed outside is a pleasurable contrast to the glossy interior

Meet the Maker:
Kobo Daidai
Suzuki san has mastered the bright blue citrus ash crackle glaze which shimmers on his pieces like the waves on Tokyo Bay, which you can glimpse from his tiny studio in Kanagawa just South of Tokyo.
His pottery studio has more guitars in it than ceramics, becuase he loves to tinker with them and mend them in his spare time.
