These cups are paired because of their colour. As you can see, Sudou san has got a beautiful range of blues, from the lighter turquoise right down to a deep midnight blue. This is his preferred colour and what he looks for, and these are his premier pieces.

Kouyougama

In the forests of Kagoshima, in the far South-West of Japan, Sudou san tries to master the richest blue he can fire.
His blues range from a beautiful silvery metallic blue down to the deepest starry midnight blue. Among stacks of rejected pieces, Sudou san keeps searching for the blue in his mind. Mostly making sake cups and pourers, Sudou san sometimes adds ammonites and fossil shaped inlay to his pieces.
