Deep in the countryside of Kagoshima, down a long rutted winding track through the forest, guarded by a burly Rottweiler, lies Kouyougama Kiln, where Sudou san tries to master the deepest blue he can fire.
He isn't looking for perfection, he is looking for the blue that he can see in his mind. The better the colour in his opinion, the more he will value a piece. The mixture of depth of colour with his metallic and sometimes irridescent glaze is enthralling.
