Miniature Wooden Buddha

This is a tiny carved buddha, only just over 4cm high. But even at that size, with some wear to the head, he still has character - this is a lovely bit of skilled carving.

Sold to us as a set, but it is clear that it is a marriage, the constituent parts did not start out life together. However, the size of the enclosure (18cm L x 13.5cm W x 18cm H) focuses attention on the buddha nestled inside.

As for age it is hard to tell, but certainly 19th century at least.
