A hand-knotted 9cm sedge coaster made in Ōsaka, Japan that epitomises traditional craft. Made by a collective of local ladies, determined to re-learn and save the art of sedge weaving.

Meet the Maker:

Fukae Suge Zaiku

These hand-woven sedge coasters are made in Ōsaka by the Fukae Suge collective. Mostly older ladies keen that the traditional ways don't die out, they practise to resurrect the skillful weaving of times gone by.
