Kintsugi: the art of mending in Japan
Kintsugi is the ancient technique of mending treasured ceramics with natural urushi lacquer glue and then covering in gold powder. In the Japanese aesthetic it makes no sense to hide the join or mend, instead it should be celebrated as part of the life of the object.
