Izumita san's work always has a geological and elemental feel to it and this vase epitomises his style. The layers of clay are all painstakingly inserted by hand and then if they deform or even crack in the kiln s much the better. He enjoys this organic shaping of such a precise technique. This vase comes with its own signed box as provenance as hs works become more and more collectible.
