On a slightly larger surface like the base of this plate, the glaze gets a beautiful depth of colour and the crackle makes it almost glitter in the light. This refinement contrasts with the dynamic rough streaks of oak ash glaze over the dark clay. Supported on three pyramid feet, the plate seems to nearly float.
