Hand thrown and decorated by Fukushima san at the Fukushima Kiln in Mashiko in Eastern Japan.

Fukushima Kiln

Fukushima san's work features swirling hand-carved indentations called shinogi. Whether they remind you of ripples in the water, flowers or maybe the ripples in sand dunes, they are incredibly tactile and satisfying to touch. Fukushima san prefers a bright white body, but our taste leans towards the pieces more flecked with yellow and grey.
