A hand-turned, rough-edged coaster with a lovely curved organic shape. The beautiful grain of the wood is emphasised by the technique of yakisuga-ita - or gently charring the wood, traditionally done to preserve wooden cladding. This is then coated in a traditional beeswax lacquer to add another layer of lustre.
