Care Guide

Like all tableware and handmade homewares, our products should be used with some degree of care to help keep them looking good. Izumita san recommends hand-washing only, we do not recommend putting in the dishwasher or the microwave.

Meet the Maker:

Izumita Yukiya

Based in the North of Japan in Iwate prefecture, far away from the traditional centres of ceramics in Japan, Izumita Yukiya creates sculptural pieces inspired by geology.

His making often features strips and layers of clay, influenced by geological strata, which could be interpreted as the eternal layering and relayering of the earth. His pieces are now in major galleries in the US and Japan as his reputation continues to rise.
