Pretty and practical side plate in traditional Japanese blue and white porcelain, but updated with a modern pattern inspired by Japanese "Shōji" paper screens. Hand-painted in the famous porcelain town of Arita.

Meet the Maker:

Shingama Kiln

We hope you enjoy this piece of hand-painted Arita porcelain from the Shingama kiln on the island of Kyūshū in Japan. Shingama was only established in 1830 but went on to exhibit at the Paris exhibition of 1878.
The pattern on the porcelain is inspired by the Shōji screens found in traditional Japanese architecture
