Green Sake Jug with Handle

£8600

Handles are hard to make and hard to transport - we had a sigh of relief when this one was unpacked in London. The height of the handle makes it easy to pick up and use and also easy to wash up after using it! The white streaks around the top half of the katakuchi add some movement to the bright green ground

Meet the Maker:

Hagiwara Yoshinori

Hagiwara Yoshinori is the fifth generation of the Hagiwara family ceramic workshop. He is very keen on preparing clays and glazes in his garden from the local resources by himself.
He uses a variety of kilns and is an incurable kiln collector but he particularly likes his Noborigama climbing kiln that he built. With the knowledge gained through his experience firing the Noborigama, he is called “the god of Noborigama” by other local potters.
He often uses colourful and interesting glazes to complement his skilful making.
