Shoji pattern Dinner Plate

29cm dinner plate in traditional Japanese blue and white porcelain, but updated with a modern pattern inspired by Japanese "Shōji" paper screens. Hand-painted in the famous porcelain city of Arita.

Care Guide

Like all tableware and handmade homewares, our products should be used with some degree of care to help keep them looking good. These are porcelain, so dishwasher safe and microwave safe. Like all porcelain, repetitive hard use of metal cutlery can eventually leave grey lines in the glaze.

These are all food safe and conform to BS6748:1986 + A1:2011 (Toxic Metal Release)

Shingama Kiln

We hope you enjoy this piece of hand-painted Arita porcelain from the Shingama kiln on the island of Kyūshū in Japan. Shingama was only established in 1830 but went on to exhibit at the Paris exhibition of 1878.
The pattern on the porcelain is inspired by the Shōji screens found in traditional Japanese architecture
