Medium Elliptical Shinogi Vase

It is hard to see from the photos, but this vase is elliptical and is only 8cm deep, narrow enough to comfortably sit on a mantelpiece or a shelf if needs be. The shinogi patterns widen towards the bottom of the vase and look almost like a leaf or a fern draped around the vase.

Fukushima Kiln

Fukushima san's work features swirling hand-carved indentations called shinogi. Whether they remind you of ripples in the water, flowers or maybe the ripples in sand dunes, they are incredibly tactile and satisfying to touch. Fukushima san prefers a bright white body, but our taste leans towards the pieces more flecked with yellow and grey.
