Nyuhaku Vase

£7500 £11000

A colourful but restrained vase, suitable for the tea ceremony or your mantelpiece. A gentle lip at the top and the white shirogesho glaze define the edge of the vase against the flower stems before sinking into the earthy colours below. This vase shows the three different textures Gotou san works with: natural clay, a white ash glaze and the yellow natural wood ash glaze from the kiln.

  • 12cm Diameter, 20cm High
  • Stoneware (see our Care Guide)
  • Echizen style stoneware from Tsubakigama in Fukui prefecture.

Meet the Maker:

Tsubakigama

Based in Echizen, one of the ancient 6 kilns of Japan, Gotō san is a cheerful, energetic, opinionated and slightly eccentric man who is great fun to work with.
