These are always popular and in previous years we have sold out before we can get them online. Customers always appreciate the contrast between the smooth donten glaze and the rough carved sides. Lovely to use and drink from, they can even be used as espresso cups.

Meet the Maker:

Yanase Tobo

We only found Yanase san because of a single rice bowl we saw in an Echizen "michi-no-eki". We used a spare afternoon to track him down and we have worked together ever since.

His Donten glaze is particularly popular and we have expanded the range to include ramen bowls and sushi plates. Still working from his parents' house, he has managed to complete projects for restaurants and designers across the world.
