A Tube shade is roughly the same height as Diameter, and a Shallow Drum shade is about half as high as the diameter.

US Finial/Harp fittings

If you would like a finial fitting for a harp, please let us know, they generally cost only £5-£8.

Shades up to and including 12"diameter have a final fitting, 14" diameter shades and up will come with a spider for use with a harp.

We do not supply harps and our shades will not come with the harp.

An exuberant peony print covers these shades with hints of red and yellow in places. The hand-dyed colours give a pleasing mottled, un-uniform texture to the pattern when the shade is illuminated, further softened by the texture of the paper itself. A testament to the adaptability of traditional paper-dying craft in Japan.

Meet the Maker:

Keijusha Washi

Located in the beautiful town of Yatsuo, the Keijusha paper company is on the banks of the Ida river where the water for their washi making comes from.

Based on historic designs of Serizawa Keisuke from the early 20th Century, you can immediately see the Western influence on the patterns. But these patterns would only work with the strong, waterproof paper perfected in Yatsuo town.

In the 20th century, there was only one company left with the skills to fulfil Serizawa's expectations, and that was the Keijusha Paper Company.
