Hexagonal Mitsurou Coasters

A hand-shapes, hexagonal coaster with gently lifting sides. The beautiful grain of the wood is emphasised by the technique of yakisuga-ita - or gently charring the wood, traditionally done to preserve wooden cladding. This is then coated in a traditional beeswax lacquer to add another layer of lustre.
