Kawakami "Local" Chopsticks

These chopsticks are made with local wood from across Central and Northern Japan, all the way from Wakayama down on the South side of Honshu up to the Akita just below Hokkaido. Each location is famous for certain trees, each with different grain and colouration:

• Dewa in Akita prefecture: Cherry / Yamazakura
• Hida in Gifu prefecture: Magnolia Tree / Ho
• Kishu in Wakayama prefecture: Cypress / Hinoki
  
• Mino in Gifu prefecture: Chesnut / Kuri
• Oshu in Iwate prefecture: Maple / Kaede
• Shinshu in Nagano prefecture: Larch / Karamatsu
  

These are all 23cm chopsticks hand-made in Tokyo, and while they are all lacquered they should never be put in the dishwasher
