Matsumoto Kurogi Square Plates
From a distance these look just like shou sugi ban (lacquered charred wood), but up close you realise these are ceramic coasters, each with a different unique wood grain pattern. Flat enough to use as a coaster (or as a sushi plate), they also have an incredibly tactile surface.
- Approx 0.5cm high and roughly 10.5cm square

- Not recommended to put in the dishwasher

- Hand-thrown, kerosene-fired, from Matsumoto Ryota's kiln near Kasama town, Ibaraki prefecture
