Mikan Glaze Sake Pourers

£3900

Often Suzuki san's works have an underneath which is a beautiful as the top. The sides of these katakuchi pourers show off the light green runs and drips of glaze over his custom mix of clays, which are often hidden on the flatter pieces. Beautiful to look at and to hold, they are also suprisingly versatile pourers, not just for nihonshu!

These have a slightly greener bottom rather than the blue of some of his other pieces.

  • Taller pourer is approx 12.5cm high and roughly 10cm in diameter
  • The shorter one is approx 10cm high and 12cm diameter
  • Stoneware (see our Care Guide)
  • Not recommended to put in the dishwasher
  • Pourer only, cups not included
  • Hand-thrown, kerosene-fired, from the Kobo Daidai Kiln South of Tokyo in Kanagawa prefecture

Meet the Maker:

Kobo Daidai

Suzuki san has mastered the bright blue citrus ash crackle glaze which shimmers on his pieces like the waves on Tokyo Bay, which you can glimpse from his tiny studio in Kanagawa just South of Tokyo.

His pottery studio has more guitars in it than ceramics, becuase he loves to tinker with them and mend them in his spare time.
