Exuberant, stylised Paulownia flowers cover this paper from Keijusha - the paulownia was the kamon or symbol of the Toyotomi clan and is now the offical crest of the government of Japan. The hand-dyed colours give a pleasing mottled, non-uniform texture to the pattern when the shade is illuminated, further softened by the texture of the paper itself. A testament to the adaptability of traditional paper-dying craft in Japan.
